Michael has worked at Concordia University since 1998 and currently serves as the vice president for finance. For a few years he has provided volunteer accounting services in Kenya, Laos, and Cambodia and hopes to do that again in the future.
He came to the board in summer 2013 and served as treasurer until November 2021 when he became the Board Chair. Michael had served on Non-Profit Boards in the past but was new to serving on a School Board.
Michael enjoys serving on the St Paul City School board because he believes that education changes lives and gives student opportunities that without education they would not have.

Dayan currently works at a Target Distribution Center and is currently furthering her education by getting her associate degree in Human Services.
She is a former St Paul City School student that attended school from Kindergarten through Eight Grade. She is now the parent of a student that is currently attending SPCS.
Dayan enjoys St Paul City School because of it’s size. She believes that the small, tight-knit community provides her and her child access to high quality teachers and school staff.
Sheila Williams Ridge

Sheila is the Co-Director of the Child Development Laboratory School at the University of Minnesota. She also teaches the course: Nature-Based Learning in Early Childhood. Sheila is currently taking courses towards an Ed. D. in Education Leadership. She is co-author of the book, Nature-Based Learning for Young Children: Anytime, Anywhere, on Any Budget, published by Redleaf Press and is passionate about encouraging nature-based play and the lasting developmental benefits of a relationship between children and nature.
In her free time, she enjoys hiking, photography, camping, cooking, and gardening.
Sheila connected with SPCS through a colleague and was so impressed by the collaborative style of leadership, the deep investment in children's wellbeing and development, and the overall inclusive and accessible feel of the school community.
Maria Lopez

Maria has taught Kindergarten at SPCS since 2021. She holds a B.A. in Elementary Education as well as Early Childhood Education from Bethel University.
Maria loves teaching Kindergarten because she believes that they are an amazing and thrilling age group to work with due to their curiosity for life. Maria became a teacher to be with students during difficult moments of their lives and helping them find ways to express their emotions in positive ways.
When she not teaching, Maria enjoys going on walks while exploring all that Minnesota has to offer. Fall is her favorite season. Waking up early to watch the sunrise with a cup of coffee is her ideal way to spend her morning.

Sky has worked at River's Edge Academy (now SPCS) since 2010. He currently teaches Social Studies to 9th and 10th graders as well as the AVID elective class, and also serve as a school board member. When not teaching students, he supports other teachers as an instructional coach and worsk to implement the AVID program as a school site coordinator.
When not at work, Sky enjoys time with my family, being outdoors, and loves playing disc golf. He works to help kids discover their greatness and value making positive connections with the students, staff, and families in our school community.
