SPCS Mural Project

St. Paul City School partnered with three local artists to create mural pieces for our school, representing the school’s largest demographic groups. The murals show representation for the communities that inhabit and have inhabited the Rondo and Frogtown neighborhoods that the school geographically located in and a part of.

African American, Hmong and Latino students combine to represent 95% of SPCS’ student demographics. All three demographic groups have strong representation in the Frogtown and the historical Old Rondo neighborhood. The interconnectedness between these very distinct demographic groups in the community, are a small representation of the beauty of our multicultural nation, which houses people from many different walks of life.

Below, you will find each artist’s description of their work and history of the hard working and dedicated people that make our neighborhood a community.
